PINK is not the new YELLOW..

But, what the heck, I'm liking pink nowadays. Okay this is really getting out of hand since this is my third entry for the day and it's not even lunch time yet. It's my third entry for this morning. Anyway, Yesterday while we were taking a break at crepes and cream or whatevs, I kept of glancing back at the body shop store nearby. (btw, White musk has a new packaging). And I couldn't help but notice the stack on the window facing crepes and cream. They organized their products in a way that the pink ones go to one shelf and the purple ones go to another. Okay, in short, they color-coded their store and I just couldn't resist looking at the pink stacked shelf. Anyway, If I haven't told you yet. I never liked pink while growing up contrary to the fact that most girls do. However, I learned recently that I might have a liking for PINK after all. It's not like I'm a late-bloomer but I really do at this age of almost 21. I loved the color blue for almost half my lifetime, and really loved yellow when I entered college and now, as much as I've hated it before, I'm currently infatuated with the color pink. not yet in love though. So I've looked for a lot of pink and girly stuff alike and here's what I found.

cute vintage pink fone. Papa used to have a fone like this in the office. not pink of course.

"bakit sabon?"

"Eh kasi surfac---" I hesitated to answer when my brother asked kung bakit daw sabon yung binubuhos sa dagat sa oil spill sa Romblon ngayon. I hesitated not because I don't think he's familiar with the term, but because I know this term yet I am not sure. Soap is a surfactant. It is a substance which is amphiphilic (according to our Chemistry professors and wikipedia). Ampiphilic meaning it has both a hydrophobic (water-hating?) tail and hydrophilic (water loving) head. So to cut this whole feeling geeky mode short, Soap can be used to remove sebo on our dishes and kalderos because the hydrophobic end which is soluble in organic substances (thanks again wikipedia) attaches to oil while the hydrophilic head attaches to water. When you wash the oil covered plates and utensils the oil which is holding on to the tail of the surfactant gets washed off since naka attach sila sa tubig. gets?

This is probably one of the lessons that I loved when I took up chemistry back in first year college.
this one's already a micelle which is just a bunch of surfactants put together and said "let's volt in!"

It's sort of like this catdog situation. Imagine the cat bites on imaginarily at the oil while the dog bites on to the water. When the water drains down into the sink, it will take the oil with it thanks to the catdog err surfactant i mean, a.k.a. the soap. odiba?

Same thing with the recent Romblon retrieval operations. They were using soap to wash of the oil at the sea, which may still be a bad idea though. The detergent will only likely to worsen the problem since it's not good for the fishes and corals as well.

OH WELL...

MV Princess of the Stars ship upside down in Romblon. This ship gives me the creeps.

Anyway, I'm glad I've finally cleared some of the million questions in my head. This is good. I'm starting to get back on school mode. When this term gets asked in the Board exams next year, I would probably remember this entry and smile.

Sunday!

The sun is shining brightly outside again today, Yay, thank God. I promise I won't complain of the hot weather just as long as the house finishes on time. Anyway, Yesterday, we brought some of my stuff (1st batch) back to my dorm. Apparently, I was the first to litter our neatly clad room. Then we went straight to Moa to have lunch. We ate at Tokyo Cafe because mama was literally stopped in amazement by the fake food display they have at the front. The resto was not that intimidating (apparently, some resto managers interviewed yesterday in "ang pinaka-budget friendly tsibugan" episode used this term alternately with non-threatening when it comes to describing their restos, which is good for customers like me who hates fine dining type of restos!) and the whole feel of it seems really good (not intimidating at all). It's also amusing that when a customer comes in, everyone will yell out "Konichiwaaa!!". So funny. Anyway, The food was basically Italian! I knew that we surely read it right (TO-KI-YO), but we saw that from the outside display pa lang na they serve pasta, pizza and some American dishes like the chicken and fries plate etc. SO anyway, there weren't any sushi or maki on the menu (unless I've skipped a page or so), but their food was amazing. I loved mine anyway. I had their Napolitan pasta which had a "new" sign right on top of it. Its description said, it's just a ketchup sauce+ham+bacon+bell pepper+mushroom pasta. One of the Japanese faves apparently (really?). It tasted really sour (which I love in authentic pasta dishes---pure tomatoes) while my brother ordered the chicken and cheese dish (so kfc), except that their mozzarella is real. My sister ordered this spicy chicken dish I do not know the name of. My father and mother shared in a garlic and shrimp pasta and salisbury steak (all of which i tasted). Most of their dishes (or the ones we ordered) were spicy. Even mine was spicy but everything tasted good. Worth your money if you ask me.

After lunch, we headed to National Bookstore to get one of Kat's books for the term. went looking around for a new book. went to the arts and photography section, then opened a few house ideas and color schemes books, checked out some bestselling books, 2 of which were written by Palahniuk (which I got the title of and will look for a free ebook version later) and some Phil lit books (which I love) and some books about movie posters and the beatles. Mama went to buy stuff at watson's. Had crepe, shakes and coffee for merienda. Had a stopover at tiende on the way home. went to buy food for the dog. Went to check out the improvement at home. Had another stopover at parola to buy dishwashing soap, detergents and the like. Had another stopover at small R and finally went home. We had another merienda (okoy+empanada from Ilocos--at least that's what they said on their tagline) at home. Then had dinner (bulaloww). Foodtripping much?

It was a really long day. I was down by 10pm after singing obnoxiously, irritatingly and aloud (my self-composed joketime song entitled "do you know who you are?" which only had 4 chords) to my sister while she was doing her homework.  But before the day ended (rewind to 3 hours earlier), I had to run to the store nearby for autoload. It was then that the day was turned upside down, or not really. The thing is, we never got the load so I had to go back only to wait for the owner to bicker a little with her son over the load that we did not get. To cut the story short, I went back half walking - half running with the P60 back in my hands. I just hope I wouldn't ever have to go back there again. Not a good experience. So there. I am a worrier so I do not need any of these kinds of experiences in my life. I still don't like our new neighborhood as opposed to our old one. It's been a long time since we had to live next door to a lot of people. It's bad enough that we are cramped up in this little space of an apartment,  but why do we have to share a common garage with others? Anyway. I still thank God that we have a place to live in. At least we found good people who can accommodate us even for just 4 months. Anyway, these too shall pass. Thank You Lord. I don't want to keep complaining anymore.

P.S. I would be studying/reviewing from now onwards until classes start on Tuesday! I Hope! So I need as less internet consumption as possible. And movie reviews will come in due time. ngek...

big movie list.

Since I have cooked breakfast already for all of us (well, manang finished the cooking) and I was able to make myself my very own milk tea (with real tea+fresh milk+sugar) and since I won't be watching any movies in the coming semester, I would be squeezing all these rom-coms in one day, and that's today! Nothing's gonna stop me, not even my dorm stuff. Those can wait. hahaha. Anyway, I'm planning to make movie reviews and all after. Will try. hahahhaa. As I've said, I'm not really into doing synopses, but I'll try.

I've already started on this one since it's the first to finish downloading, but I'm guessing there will be a lot of unexpected dirty scenes. I already know about the sex wars scene but I didn't expect the first few scenes, so, maybe I'll just get back on this one and start with Bounty Hunter first since that's what I've been so excited about for weeks anyway.

Okay, this is what I'm talking about. I love Jennifer Aniston. I can't believe I've never watched Friends, but I loved JOEY (which was Matt Leblanc's sitcom after friends and they used the same Joey character from Friends so... okay, I'm getting out of topic again). Anyway, I just love her and I'll love her even more in this movie. another comedy!

And yay! another Kristen Bell movie. Aside from Jen, I also love Kristen. I love her personality in real life and her chemistry/relationship with talk show host (as friends), Craig Ferguson. You can watch all of their interviews on Youtube! DEFINITELY MUST SEE VIDEOS, especially the one with the crocodile puppet. So cute and really funny. Anyway, this is another rom-com. I can't say that this movie genre's the best among others but this definitely has to be my top fave genre. Okay, I'll stop now.

Okay, I won't be doing any reviews for this, but still, I didn't get to catch the last ep on tv so I'm so excited when the downloads finished. thank God. I love Glee. That's all.

so random!

I was reading Dianna Agron's blog when I suddenly thought of doing a survey. I used to do this a lot on my previous blogs and I know I have to do it here as well. So I just looked around for one and decided to do this really cool survey from someone named bigsis222 on multiply. I didn't realize that it was the real Lea Salonga's blog (but I'm still not sure coz I saw some weird cursing on some of the answers and I don't think she curses that way if she does)! But still, I'm gonna do this survey because it's kind of different from the ones I used to do---probably a bit more mature one since I saw something about paying the bills and all... so here it goes.

blah blah enrolment blah blah

Yesterday, I met up with my longtime college friends, Mara, Maan and Carlo and of course with my bff Nikki. It was enrolment day! No, that exclamation point wasn't to point out sarcasm. I REALLY was happy to see them all again. We all were, that's why I LOVE enrolment days (and no, that wasn't sarcastic either). It's the first time you and your friends get to meet up again after a long vacation and in my case, my friends and I were just really those wild and noisy kind of people (almost palengkera like), kaya when we see each other again, we can't hide our excitement and end up really annoying those people around us. So what?!?! We REALLY missed each other and if you're one of those people who almost didn't wanna stay in line because you're too irritated, I'm genuinely sorry. Please understand.

 anyway...

I was just supposed to meet up with Nikki, after all, it was supposed to be our bonding day. Good thing she was friends with my friends so hopefully di naman siya na-OP. Well, for a time I think she felt a little left out, another good thing, Ging, my classmate who was with us too brought up the fact that I haven't introduced them to each other yet. Good move! By the end of the whole enrolment, they were very much acquainted. I think. hahaha.

After the fast enrolment (said Hi to Sir Paul and to the people I used to work with during enrolment) came the super slow and long line to the Globe people. Apparently, they were giving out "free daw" na UST sims. The queue to them took a little while longer than the enrolment itself, so booya! Then at the entrance of the seminary gym, may BPI people naman who were offering free ATM applications. Shempre, MEGA takbo naman kami (sabi ko nga magulo and isip bata pa ata talaga kami lahat, lalo na me!) and we all applied for one. After all, I can really use this to help me save up for the whole 2 semesters this year. I really need to save up (for a lot of things) and the only way I can control not spending my money is by depositing it in the bank. My BDO has unfortunately been inactive for almost a year na rin (which Maan told me should have been deactivated by the company na raw). So it's really a blessing (sana) that I got myself one na rin (conyoyakis much?). I could really use this. It's a step to my plan of being self-disciplined this year. A new strategy perhaps?

Then, after that, Nikki and I didn't join the trio for lunch na, we walked to our building, walked back out (walang napala) and bought meself a pair of ultra-soft (not napkin but a pair of decent looking tsinelas) sa overpass (san pa ba?)! My Ultra new shoes gave up on me (well, yung mega laking gems lang naman and ako pala yung nag give up kasi masakit siya ah, infairness, di ko yung inexpect since sooper lambot niya nung binili ko). Niloko niya lang ako. cool off muna. hahaha. Then we had lunch at Mang Inasal in Shopwise, then we checked out a lot of shoes in gateway. So far, madaming nadagdag sa list of goodies to buy ko! Makakaipon ba ako nito? Then, before we parted ways, Nik and I strolled around CubaoX. Checked out heima from outside their store (kasi may lunch break ata buong CubaoX) kaya sarado. Then my sooper baet bff waited until I was able to hail a jeepney and to think na malayo pa yung lalakarin niya. Umaambon daw kasi at wala akong payong. tsk tsk... sooper baet talaga, and I love her for that. Thank God for her. Finally after a sleepy ride on the way home, I bought Cheesy mamon (pero di naman mashadong cheesy..) and pianono (in fairness masarap pero wala pa ring tatalo sa pianono ng Sumilang, Pasig City!!!! ulit ulit---Pasig Citeeehhh!!) ate some before I drifted off to a long siesta. Anglamig kasi!! ayown then, I took a bath, ate dinner with Manang and Jus, prayed the Rosary with my family, kinulit kulit si Kat before I slept (again), then I woke up because I needed to pee (kasi soooooper giniginaw na ako, akalain mo) then BLOGGED (eto na)! Yahooooo! Whattaday! I wonder what time I'm gonna wake up again tomorrow.

BTW, kanina, I heard shouting from outside. Kakatakot. A bunch of drunken guys siguro. Grabe. scaryyyyy.
BTW2, I was downloading a mobile Bible kanina for my laptop kaya lang may topak (sinong may alam na matinong mobile Bible?)
BTW3, Nagtopak bigla ang Globe Tats at nawala ang koneksyon!! ggrrr... Di pa tapos ang When in Rome, Forgetting Sarah MArshall, Glee ep 21 and Bounty Hunter downloads!! Please connect, Please connect... PLEASE CONNECT!>!>!>!?!?!?!?!!!!

Yun lang, adios!! Off to read HP7 kung di ako makatulog.... ok late na nagkaron ng net ulit... darn...

P.S. iniinterview daw ng UKG yung dorm ko as we speak....

just because it's the first day of June...

and because I'm in a good mood since I slept early and woke up early as well, I am eager to blog again. Tomorrow, everyone will be back in school not because it's the first day of school already, na-ah, but because it's enrolment day! And yes, I finally get to wear my new shoes. Hopefully my new pair doesn't get "christened" with rain and puddles of mudd..

Anywhoo, I have no intentions of making a long entry today. I just want to welcome June, after all, it did welcome us with a cool and drizzly day.. I think.

Oh June.
It's the month of weddings and mothers in Luxembourg and fathers in Belgium.. (courtesy of wikipedia hahaha)
It's the start of the rainy season,
start of school season and UAAP season...meganon?
start of a brand new semester...
Oh who wouldn't want another year with a clean slate at hand?

I bet this kid wants to go to school so bad. I just feel how she feels in that picture whenever I get to bring all my new stuff to school including my new pair of shoes. But otherwise, I feel a little more like this...

You know, I do feel exactly how kids feel because I really am a kid at heart. ngek sume-segue hhaha. Kasi naman even at the age of 20, I still feel giddy when buying colored pens and all the new stuff they have at the bookstore. I love different kinds of pens and paper because I love having colorful notes. I think that it kind of grew on me, having classmates back in high school who love doodling stuff on their notes as well. So I bought these...

Yes, including that magic eraser. You see, I keep losing/misplacing my erasers, so bought a cuter and bigger one.

I also bought 2 packs of #2 monggol pencils or maybe 3, since we saw an extra pack which me might have accidentally, or I might have accidentally thrown in the basket that day. I bought these kasi like in the case of my missing erasers, I also lose my pencils all the time, especially pag exams na. Di ko na ata mabilang mga pencils na nahingi at nabigay ng roommates ko sa akin. tsk tsk..

And I shouldn't forget these... these are our books' best friends... Together with our bookstands and coffee, cobras/stings and drools and sleepy eyes on the side...

But you know what my best buy for that day was? THIS! This HUGE 150 sheet, 5 subject notebook!!! I was eyeing something similar but costs like more than half of our shopping allowance so I had to sadly put it back on the shelf. Fortunately, God never closes a door without opening another, He led me to this notebook! It has exactly the same features (with the ruled pre-cut markings so you can easily and cleanly tear it out) except for the design, but that can be fixed. I know exactly what to cover this with. Boy am I glad to find this. My sister bought the green one (kasi green blooded talaga) only to find out at home that hers was thinner. 3 subject notebook lang pala. hahahahha... I kept teasing her about it ever since. Kitamona? Isip bata talaga eh.

This one, I bought for myself and myself only. My siblings were the ones to jeer back at me when they learned that I still buy these. They take their quizzes kasi on a notebook or a yellowpad na, unlike me who obviously has to bring these sheets of paper to school pa like a little old gradeschooler.

Haayyy, buying all these school stuff makes me really happy (like Heaven happy) but still sad that summer's ending na. No matter how hard you shrug it off your mind or your whole body pa like someone having seizures with matching tumitirik na mata, you can't stop the unstoppable and no matter how far you've been to this summer, you have to go back--------back to school. ngek. hahaha. corny. anyway, school starts in about hmmmm, let me see..... aahh yeah yeah .... 2 weeks (kunyari nakalimot pa eh). I don't want to count down to the exact day before school starts. It's not like it's something to look forward to, so yeah, basically 2 weeks nalang and panic mode na naman ako. ayayay!!! But you know what, you should always remember and plant it deep in your hearts like I do (wehh) that we have a God and families and friends who'll look after us kaya no need to worry. Just Follow HIM and everything's gonna be alright. Ay, Uncle Kracker? double wehhhhh....
